Laura Drake

I'm a versatile Graphic Designer with 10 years experience in the design industry in the United States and Australia. I have extensive experience in print marketing & publications but have designed across a diverse range of media for the sporting, government, health, education, engineering, agriculture and faith-based sectors.

Until recently I worked for a golf management company creating a vast amount of print and online collateral for 20 private and public golf clubs nationwide often under tight deadlines. I particularly enjoyed creating designs for weddings and special events and streamlining office efficiencies such billing and file management. During this role I kept the marketing department running during a period where both my managers were on simultaneous maternity leave. In Australia I was the graphic designer for a public/government relations firm developing concepts for marketing and government campaigns across a range of media focusing on corporate reputation management and developing an effective market presence for clients. We produced a bi-monthly magazine for one of our major clients read by approximately 35,000 people and I was trusted with project management of individual clients.

Capable of handling design briefs from initial concept through to production, I excel in developing an entire visual campaign so that every element successfully reflects the client's mission and goals. I'm a team player with a sense of humor, quick to master new concepts, eager to assume additional responsibilities and willing to pitch in on any tasks required.

I hold a bachelor of Design (Visual Communications) from the University of Technology, Sydney graduating with first class honors and have studied Information Technology (Website Design) at TAFE (Technical and Further Education). I also obtained an Executive Business Diploma from June Dally Watkins Business Finishing School with studies including Business Administration, Accounting, Computers & Etiquette.
